Walker Lukens

Walker Lukens is a singer-songwriter and an indie rock artist whose music combines Spoon style strong downbeats with a type of relaxed funk that may be reminiscent of Beck's work, and adds soulful vocals that go well beyond the conventional rock style. The songs have some bold accents, plus often an easy flow and a generally nice bounce. They are quite groove oriented, melodically clear and sharp, and somewhat eclectic in feel. He plays in an energetic style that is also very accessible and pop-friendly, often adorned with some dancey beats. His 2020 album Red Headed Strangers is an album of Willie Nelson covers with a couple of originals, while his release the following year Sound Bath is a collection of electronic loops in the ambient genre.
