Thee Sinseers

The Sinseers are an R&B and soul ensemble based in East Los Angeles, that delivers a mellow, retro sound. They are led by vocalists Joseph Quiñones and Adriana Flores up front, with their smooth voices floating above a restrained brass section, an occasionally jazzy guitar, and the band's romantic Chicano soul flavor melding into chill Motown vibe. Their ballads have the melodic flow and the gentle sway back and forth that fully commits to the style. Sometimes they tap into the very early days of garage rock as well, gently that is, which underscores the sense that their music would probably not have felt out of place all that much in the '60s. They come across as a genuine tip of the hat to a much more optimistic era.
