Tempers

Since producer left the duo in 2023, Tempers has been the solo project of synth pop artist Jasmine Golestaneh, who stays closer to the gloomy side with some darkwave woven into her music. They were a guitar and bass centric post-punk band early on, but synth grooves began to take a more central role in their sound soon after giving way to their signature dark texture, with the steady throb of percussion in the background. Golestaneh's vocals are usually covered in a layer of haze and mixed in more or less the same level as the rest of the instruments.  The influence of bands like The Cure or New Order is close to the surface in her work. She has some uptempo, potentially dance-friendly songs, and a good bulk of the songs in their catalog also have a steady layer of melancholy that stretches across.
