Tempers is the synth pop duo Jasmine Golestaneh and Eddie Cooper, whose music stays closer to the gloomy side with some darkwave woven into their music. They started as a guitar and bass centric post-punk band early on but synth grooves began to take a more central role in their sound soon after. Cooper's guitar still works in tandem with the synths to create their signature dark texture with the steady throb of percussion in the background. Golestaneh's vocals are usually covered in a layer of haze and mixed in more or less the same level as the rest of the instruments. The influence of bands like The Cure or New Order is close to the surface in their work. They have some uptempo, potentially dance-friendly songs, and a good bulk of the songs in their catalog have a melancholic pep at their core.
