Swim School

Swim School is an indie rock band that plays '90s inspired indie rock with a soaring big indie pop sound that ends up giving their songs an uplifting anthemic tone. They originally started out as more or less a jangle pop band, putting out songs that suggested carefree fun. The band came out of the pandemic period with the EP making sense of it all (2021) which is where they started to move towards an edgier sound with crunchier guitars, where themes vocalist Alice Johnson was touching on were growing darker. By their self-titled 2025 debut album, their music sounded much grittier, and the band had begun to incorporate some shoegaze effects on the guitars as well.
