Sug Daniels

Sug Daniels is the lead singer of the band Hoochi Coochi, singer-songwriter Danielle Johnson. She plays the electric ukulele and sings vibrant songs with a personal angle that almost inevitably comes across as having a lighter touch, even some levity, because after all, how sad can a song really be when played on a ukulele? She is an achingly honest songwriter, her voice has a lovely rasp, and her arrangements are near bare bones for the most part, which adds to the heightened sense of exposure to her songs. Her music almost demands to be consumed ins small spaces with close friends having a lively get-together.
