Her Skin

Her Skin is the Italian singer-songwriter Sara Ammendolia who writes folk oriented songs with charming, gentle melodies. She sings with a soft voice, often strumming her acoustic guitar or accompanied by a small band. Her arrangements are sparse for the most part, but she has been willing to turn up the volume and create a denser sound for an uptempo number or two especially in her second album, I started a garden (2022).  That said, her home turf appears to be the quiet and low-key romantic ballads thus far. There is plenty of soul-bearing that happens in his her songs, with lyrics that often dissect her own life and relationships, with a palpable sense of sorrow (and perhaps regret) that lies close to the surface.
