Stella Rose

Stella Rose Gahan, who goes by minus her last name is an indie rock artist whose music builds on a fairly dark sound that inches ever so close to an almost gothic sense of dread at times. She wears her PJ Harvey influences proudly on her sleeves, not only in terms of her vocal styling but also in terns of her overall melodic themes. In some of her songs, she also reaches further back in time to tap into Patti Smith's explosive delivery as well. There is a bluesy layer in her music that is not too far off the surface. All these elements are on display in her debut album, Eyes of Glass (2023), which contains a series of songs that captivate as well as signal an artist who pays a lot of attention to her craft.
