Skyway Man is a solo project of singer-songwriter James Wallace who creates music that feels airy and melodic, bringing a number of folk, rock, and pop inspired classic acts to mind. His work sits on top of a tripod built on Harry Nilsson and Randy Newman type pop song crafting on one side, early Grateful Dead's carefree grooves on another, and George Harrison's melodic deftness on the third. It is easy going music in that particular sense and carries a sense of lightness about it. There is some understated psychedelia and a dash of blues and gospel in there as well. Wallace's relaxed voice seems to float with the overall spiritual lift of his songs, adding the good vibes he seems interested in spreading around.
