Andy Shauf is a Toronto based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (originally from Saskatchewan) who works on the softer side of indie rock, with a good dose of pop and folk thrown into the mix. He is one of those songwriters in the pop/rock world whose remarkable talent has somehow remained under the radar for whatever reason. His songs are relentlessly infectious, catchy, and hard to resist upbeat gems that often tell stories. The sharpness and the consistency of his songwriting is not too far from some of the all time classics Harry Nilsson or Randy Newman. His voice is a cross between a gentler Kyle Morton (of Typhoon) and Paul Simon. His arrangements frequently come with some special extra touch, whether it is a well-timed killer pause, a clever passage, a sharp observation, a little jazz ditty on the clarinet, or a classical snippet tucked away in some corner of the song.
