Shiny Around The Edges

Shiny Around The Edges is a three-piece indie band that plays a rough and ragged style in the lo-fi range. Their songs are edgy and raw, always maintaining some level of tension in their flow, while remaining melodically well-grounded. The band is led by Jen and Mike Seman, who are on the bass and the guitar, respectively. The rhythm section is a focal point to their sound, and delivers a powerful push. They are not complete strangers to bringing an emotional component to their songs in the form of lyrical passages in between those jagged bursts. After an initial release of album between 2009 and 2012, the band's output became more sporadic, with only two EPs released since then, the latest being 2024'as Activate the Rainbow.
