She Drew The Gun

She Drew The Gun is an indie rock band led by singer-songwriter and guitar player Louisa Roach, which also serves as her moniker at times. Either way, the music is driven by Roach's ability to come up with apparently an endless stream of catchy melodies and chock-full of outstanding hooks that are wrapped in a well-balanced combination of pop and rock. She has a gentle voice and sings in a calm and relaxed manner that almost belies her angst. This was especially the case in her earlier albums before she shifted to an edgier style in Behave Myself (2021), where her vocals also became more agitated and combative. That is also where synths and electronic effects came to the front, pushing a bit to the side, the slightly distorted and occasionally jangly guitar sound that she normally places at the center of her music.
