serpentwithfeet (stylized in lower case) is the singer-songwriter and R&B artist Josiah Wise, whose hushed and tender songs evoke a sense of romantic yearning and quiet bliss. He has a classically trained beautiful voice that is at the core of his music and regularly incorporates elements of classical music into his work, especially in his vocal layers, harmonies, and the way he orchestrates his vocals, as well as in some of his instrumentation. He keeps his arrangements usually streamlined, except when it comes to vocals, which is when he starts building lush sonic textures. There are also strong gospel influences in his work. He has been a frequent collaborator on many other artists' recordings, ranging from Brokhampton and Ty Dolla $ign to Björk and Moby. His 2025 album GRIP SEQUEL introduces several new songs but otherwise contains reworked versions of previously released songs.
