Sarah Jarosz is a singer-songwriter and Americana artist with roots in bluegrass and conventional country. She is an outstanding vocalist and a renowned instrumentalist on the guitar, mandolin and banjo, having started out as a prodigy on the latter two at a young age. Her songwriting also stood out as quite mature right from the start, earning her plenty of critical acclaim over the years. She gradually incorporated contemporary folk into her music and began to branch into the electric Americana sound. Her music tends to be rich with understated melodies, warm tones, and a strong sense of lyricism, often coupled with pared down, crisp arrangements that keep the focus on her storytelling. Her songs may not be very hook rich generally, but they always feel remarkably well-constructed with a captivating edge.
