Aoife O'Donovan is a singer-songwriter and a folk artist who started out in the mid '00s with various bands and collaborations ranging from bluegrass and jazz to classical music. Her solo work is generally focused on folk and Americana, mostly on the indie folk side. Irish folk is one of the more obvious influences on her music, as is a combination of bluegrass and chamber music that occasionally surfaces. It is also not that hard to hear a whiff of Joni MItchell in her songwriting and delivery as well, though the case for this may be a bit more subtle. Her songs generally maintain a lively tone and don't go down the introverted, shy route too much. In 2021, she released Aoife O'Donovan plays Nebraska, which was a song by song cover of Bruce Springsteen's classic album.
