Run Logan Run

Run Logan Run is the project of Bristol based saxophonist Andrew Hayes whose music comes with the spiritual overtones of Pharoah Sanders combined with sometimes ambient electronic production and occasional forays into propulsive, punchy beats. The latter was far more up front when drummer Matt Brown was in the line-up between 2024 and 2021, where they were leaning harder in the fusion direction at times, especially on 2022's Nature Will Take Care of You. Hayes' music remains contemplative and introspective, as well as fundamentally free-flowing that consistently evokes bigger ideas as he plays. He achieves more breadth and musical depths from his saxophone with the use of electronic effects and controls.
