Redbud

Redbud is an Austin based band that started out as the solo project of singer-songwriter and guitarist Katie Claghorn, then evolved into a full band. Their songs tend to stray from the beaten path. They are light in tone, often bright in sound, melodically imaginative, and rhythmically interesting. The band keeps it lively all around. Plus, they display a level of musicianship as an ensemble that allows them to try out different ideas that tease ambition, as they occasionally incorporate jazzy bits and Latin beats. Claghorn sings in a sweet voice that is always about an inch away from steering straight into the dreamy territory, but stays the course.
