Red Rum Club is a band that practically embodies pop with their invariably catchy, uptempo songs and affable sound. Their music is cheery, bouncy, charming ... in other words everything one would expect from a textbook pop band that really wants to spread good vibes. The songs often follow the same overall blueprint so they may sound similar over a long span. On the other hand, what they end up sounding like is pretty close pop perfection in the first place, so there is that. Vocalist Fran Doran guides the ship with his smooth delivery and he is completely locked in to where band is heading. Other than their instantly accessible, even earwormy melodies, the band's greatest asset has to be trumpet player Joe Corby, whose effortless horn brings to mind Dexy's Midnight Runners type bounce to the overall sound.
