Proteins of Magic

Kelly Sherrod, who records under the Proteins of Magic moniker is a multi-instrumentalist musician as well as a multi-medium artist who works with claymation and focuses on the digital medium. Her music leans towards the artsy end of the scale with a mixture of electronic textures and an orchestral sound connected through a soft experimental approach. Her earlier work, the self-titled 2021 album had a strong classical music and chamber pop component that she combined with an ambient, almost new age like serene melodic flow. By contrast, her recent work embraces more electronic instrumentation, prominent beats, a bit more dissonance and tension, along with a nice theatrical tone that gives her already dramatic presentation additional weight.
