Pelvis Wrestley

Pelvis Wrestley is a band led by Jammy (née Benjamin) Violet, who combines indie rock and pop with glam flavor and a touch of country. There is a strong dance-oriented edge to a lot of their songs, which occasionally veer into a semi-theatrical direction. Their music has a colorful and fun flow. It is charming and personable, though it is also noticeably wistful below the surface. The band takes a light and measured approach that keeps their sound well-balanced and does not let their melodic sparkle get in the way. Their 2024 album ANDY pushes in the direction of synth-pop with sometimes overt references to the vintage '80s sound, which is only fitting since it is more or less an ode to Violet's previous band ANDY, a synth-pop outfit.
