Oliver Tree

Oliver Tree was a singer-songwriter and a pop rock artist whose music had emo undertones with a '00s throwback quality, who also happened to be a comedic act whose goofy persona was tightly wrapped up in social media memes. There are many artists who have merged comedy and music over the years of course, but if folks like Garfunkel and Oates or Marc Rebillet are musical comedians, Tree worked more like a comedic musician. His music is rich with hooks, it has all the ingredients of an emo-inspired pop rock, and comes across as perfectly fun, catchy, and somewhat quirky pop without the lyrics, but not necessarily comedic in nature in and of itself. His comedy was typically generated by his lyrics and visual gags sitting on top of that, which was where the Oliver Tree brand came to life. He died in a helicopter accident in June of 2026.
