lovelytheband (stylized in lower case) is a Los Angeles based three-piece band that mixes indie pop with '80s style new wave and a sharp late '00s pop flavor. The trio broke out with the single "Broken" in 2017, which more or less provided the blueprint for their overall sound and temperament in their following work. Their flair for catchy synth phrases and big vocal harmonies, as well as the brashness in their delivery that build towards rousing choruses were all evident in that song. So were their basic themes: romantic yearning and alienation. There are plenty of big, brash moments in their music that often lead to rousing choruses. Between their bright and open sound, high polish, and the earwormy quality of their songs, the trio practically oozes with strong pop energy.
