COIN is an indie pop band with a consistently upbeat and melodic style that often comes with big pop moments and anthemic choruses wrapped inside a synth pop style sound. Soundwise they are on pretty much the same type of path that bands like Imagine Dragons and Passion Pit took before them. The brightness of their sound, their level of energy, and the instant accessibility of their songs make them a natural match for the festival circuit. They write catchy hooks and dynamic songs, and play them with a lot of clarity in production. The band turned their dance pop sound noticeably down on their 2022 album Uncanny Valley, and stretched more in the direction of Brit-pop, which may suggest a minor change in musical direction might be around the corner for the band.
