half•alive

Half Alive (stylized as half•alive) is an indie pop band duo that plays dance-oriented, upbeat pop music who has been honing their synth pop further into a more electronically driven style. They create well-written, well-executed songs with a big sound and sing along choruses along with solid beats, funky, syncopated grooves and a little R&B/soul stream that flows under the surface. Singer Josh Taylor has a sweet, easy-going voice that gives the songs a nice bounce that is reciprocated by the rhythm section. Their recent push towards indietronica has given them a bigger oomph on the dance floor, but it also appears to have given them the space to play around with beats and exercise a little more restraint in their ballads and in the mid-tempo range.
