Maggie Rogers

Maggie Rogers is a singer-songwriter with an indie background whose current work falls somewhere in the rock-friendly sections of mainstream pop. Her music has been quite polished for some time, with tight production, strong melodies, and a confident sound that frequently makes use of the long wind up/rousing chorus dynamics. Her career started on a much different note though, on an indie-oriented path with both feet planted firmly in folk traditions. She developed a distinctive sound during this period, occasionally drifting towards folktronica as well. Her songwriting skills were recognized early on when she broke out with "Alaska" back in 2016 and is a part of her strength as a pop artist. Her folk affectations can still be seen peaking through the cracks on occasion.
