Lord Huron
Outline
Lord Huron is an indie band from Los Angeles that is fairly grounded in the folk genre in a broad sense, but has increasingly been pushing past that label by incorporating a wider range of musical choices. They started as a Lumineers type band: i.e., essentially folk, but with a fresh take. Their musical scope began to expand in their second album, Strange Trails, where the band began to extend into a Local Natives-adjacent territory by adopting a wider scope, introduce some twang on the guitar, sliding steel guitar action, a little rock'n roll, and even a touch of ambient music to keep things interesting. At this point they appear to be a band with indie pop at its core that uses indie folk mostly as their delivery pipeline.
