L'Éclair

L'Éclair is a six-piece band based in Geneva whose music is built on cool, head bobbing vintage grooves with a psychedelic flavor. Their sound combines the '70s style non-western rock and all its slinky, funky style (think Khruangbin or Altın Gün) with old school krautrock that goes back to original masters like Neu! and Can. Their early work tended to lean more towards the former with a heavy funky touch that occasionally referenced Afrobeat as well. Later on they began to emphasize the latter, with the motorik feel, electronica, and a touch of fusion jazz and club music, all the while retaining their penchant for strong grooves. Their music is textured, often hypnotic and captivating with songs that have been strictly instrumental thus far and with extended run times in some cases.
