Kit Sebastian

Kit Sebastian is the London based duo Kit Martin and Merve Erdem (French and Turkish, respectively) whose music stays true to their international composition. They have created an amalgamation of vintage Turkish and French pop, inspired specifically by the period around the '60s, as well as various types of Latin, including tropicalia and bossa nova, with jazz undertones woven into the fabric of their music. The songs are melodic in unusual ways where the juxtaposition of these different styles hold together really well, something that is often attributed to Martin's production skills. Erdem is a terrific singer with a misty voice, and she mostly sings in Turkish, but also in English and French. The nostalgia factor is fairly prominent in the music, but it does not overwhelm.
