Katy J Pearson

Katy J Pearson is a Bristol-based singer-songwriter who mixes indie folk and country to produce a catchy brand of indie pop.  She writes earnest and heartfelt songs that are typically upbeat and have good hooks and clear melodies. She started out as an artist that tacked closer to the conventional folk style without much envelope pushing, which changed in 2022's Sound in the Morning where she expanded her scope into clearly more indie pop and post-punk curious directions. Her music has clear production and crisp arrangements, while she sings with a nice spring in her step. Her youthful voice and that occasional jump in pitch with the nasal tremolo may bring back flashbacks of a young Kate Bush for some.
