Junglepussy

Junglepussy is the appropriately wild moniker used by hip hop artist Shayna McHayle, who writes songs that are fully locked into the politics of sexuality, focused specifically on taking ownership of female sexuality, and ends up getting pretty down and dirty in the process. Musically, she stretches into other forms as well, whether R&B, jazz, or rock. Her genre crossing does more than enrich her sound palette, it also gives her the tools to set up tone and mood. She is practically a one-person house of ideas when it comes to constructing sonic textures and finding the exact catchy hooks to reel the audience in. Her recent work, particularly the 2022 EP JP5000 finds her music turn darker with an increasingly decisive shift towards the downtempo style.
