Jane Leo

Jane Leo is the duo Jane Ellen Bryant and Daniel Leopold, who adopt an indie style that combines Leopold's rough and grimy guitars with Bryant's bright keyboards and shaded vocals. Leopold brings his dark tones and flair for the big guitar sound from his previous band, Leopold and His Fiction, and he is balanced at the other end by Bryant, who carries some of the melodic pop of her solo work over into the collaboration. The combination is as bold and confident as it is catchy in the way that it gets into both the type of dark and gritty sound that The Kills built a career around and the scuffed up, synth-friendly pop with New Wave accents that St. Vincent has been perfecting for quite some time now.
