Holy Tongue

Holy Tongue is a trio of celebrated musicians Valentina Magaletti (drums), Al Wootton (synth, production), and Susumu Mukai (bass), each with their established credentials across the contemporary music landscape, getting together around an avant-garde mindset. Their work has heavy dub elements mixed in with post-rock music and electronic music, with a touch of krautrock and jazz. Magaletti is fantastic as usual (see Vanishing Twin, Moin), creating the basic skeleton of their pieces through percussion, while Mukai (also Vanishing Twin) holds down the bottom with his occasionally ominous tone. Wootton (aka Deadboy), on the other hand, practically creates a whole sonic world among them, which is an especially crucial component to their work since their pieces are instrumental in nature.
