HMLTD

Previously known as Happy Meal Limited, HMLTD is a London-based band that mixes their flamboyant look with an omnivore's appetite to sample different genres and mesh them up. The band's appearance suggests somewhere between '70s glam and '80s synth pop, but their music is fairly diverse. They do not switch between genres wholesale à la The 1975, but instead, they pick up elements from each and work them into their basic rock schema. That is how things like post-punk, arena rock, soft rock, Morricone type dark western, goth, even a bit of music hall sound or as 2023's The Worm makes it abundantly clear, prog rock find their way into their music on any given track. Their songs have the melodic, catchy quality. There is a clarity to the arrangements that reflects the band's clear vision with respect to the sound they are going for, however eclectic the effects may be.
