The Heavy Heavy

The Heavy Heavy is a five-piece band built around the duo of Georgie Fuller and Will Turner who capture the sounds of vintage rock going back to the late '60s and a bit of the early '70s. They reference a fair amount of the folk rock, blues, soul, and psychedelic music of the period, particularly the California sound. The duo pull various strands from classic bands like Jefferson Airplane and The Mamas & the Papas, including their signature male/female harmonies. There are also some hat tips in the direction of early Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin that are scattered across their songs. Fuller and Turner give these elements a contemporary spin and the rest of the band brings the sparks that make it all work for today's audience.
