Guerilla Toss is a band that has one foot planted firmly on the gas pedal with no intentions to let up even for a breather as they push forward. They combine a good deal of electronic music and noise rock, usually set in a frenetic pace, often against solid dance beats. They started out in Boston a no wave type band that sported a little bit of chaos on top of a punk jazz inspired noise. When they fire on all cylinders, it usually means drummer Peter Negroponte is pushing up some unsettling polyrhythm as the rest of the band teeters on full blown dissonance while vocalist Kassie Carlson sounds like she's there to egg everyone on. As it happens, they never quite lose focus or loosen their control over where they are heading with their music. Most of their songs would have sounded perfectly fine even if the whole band had switched to decaf, but that burst of energy gives them an extra aura of urgency.
