GGGOLDDD

GGGOLDDD plays a combination of post-rock, post-metal, and post-punk with melodic elements that stylistically draw from indie rock and metal. Their music generally turns on heavy riffs with a touch of goth. Prior to 2019's Why Aren't You Laughing?, the band pursued a more aggressive and heavier sound that was much closer to doom metal. At that point, the band began to relax their sound a little without losing the tightness of their ensemble or the power they project with their instrumentation. This opened up the space for vocalist Milena Eva to pack more melodic force into her soulful, confident voice. Their 2022 release This Shame Should Not Be Mine is a gut punch of an album where Eva opens up about a past trauma of a highly personal nature and the emotional turmoil that came with it.
