Eyedress is Idris Vicuña, a Philippino born, Los Angeles based singer-songwriter who makes woozy, wobbly pop with a dreamy finish that may feel slightly hallucinatory at times. Vicuña takes the lo-fi approach to his recordings and draws from a variety of sources stylistically, including '70s garage rock, the rawer edges of early'80s post-punk, and jangle pop, among others. His songs are melodically imaginative and there is an idiosyncratic quality to them. His vocals are low key, even a little mumbly at times and may come across as someone singing for himself at some corner. He occasionally pulls from hyperpop elements but keeps them fairly subdued. His grooves can be lively and vibrant, but they can also be quiet and relaxed with the tempo turned down. So most everything is deliberately understated in his work.
