Singer-songwriter and guitarist Zahara Jaime, a frequent collaborator of Eyedress (aka Idris Vicuña), releases their solo work under the name zzzahara. Their music often plays in the space between the more uptempo instances of dream pop and post-punk that comes from the Disintegration period fully reverbed shimmery guitars of The Cure. When they step away from that sound, it is not hard to hear other '80s influences sprinkled in their music, from the jangly sound to arpeggiated guitars to their new wave-ish touch. They have a sweet voice that, in the true spirit of lo-fi, is recorded only a tad above the instruments. The songs are rich and well-developed, displaying the artist's obvious affection towards a range of classic styles on the guitar.
