Dream, Ivory is the Baello brothers, Christian and Louie, who play pop rock with a synth pop sound and hyperpop energy. There are various '00s pop threads that run through their music between the swirly, shimmery quality in the guitars, synths that evoke dance pop, and the brightness of the overall production. The vocals are handled by Louie Baello, who has an affinity for singing through auto-tune and other effects. He brings in additional emo undercurrents to their sound both lyrically and musically. Their songs typically live in the mid to up tempo range. Their first pair of EPs released in 2017 and 2018 were more deeply anchored in the idioms of shoegaze and dream pop with heavier emphasis on the guitars chiming in ways of the mid '90s Cure, and moved in a more mournful style and kept the pace at a lower gear.
