The Hide Outs
Outline
The Hide Outs are a band that embraces the retro sound of the '60s psychedelia mixed in with surf, some garage, and some of the original British invasion bands. The guitars are half jangly and half swirly, the beats are up front and steady, and the vocals, especially the backing ones, are fully aligned with the characteristics of the pop created in that era. Singer and guitarist Tom Doluisio leads the band. He also has a serious knack for creating memorable melodies as their main songwriter. The band, in turn, has a way of wrapping those songs in an impeccably sunshiny package that helps transport the audience to a different time and place with their music.
