Cuffed Up is a Los Angeles based indie rock band with strong '90s vibes and perhaps the vaguest touch of post-punk, who produces highly melodic pieces with a guitar driven loud edge. They blend somewhere between noise-based rock with metal style riffs and pop compatible tunes. Their calling card is the interplay between the two leads, Ralph Torrefranca and Sapphire Jewell, who play off of one another on their guitars and trade lines on vocals with great chemistry. Credit also goes to the solid foundation laid out by drummer Joe Liptock and bassist Vic Ordonez, who navigate subtle rhythmic shifts and open up the space for the guitarists to push forward. The band has good ensemlbe work, their presentation is polished, and they project a big sound that is also warm and feels organic at the same time.
