The Cool Greenhouse

The Cool Greenhouse is a post-punk band that builds their songs on repetitive patterns, minimalist melodies, and the poetry of vocalist, songwriter Tom Greenhouse (aka Tom Graham) in a way that aligns well with the recent revival of the genre. The band takes this basic format to heart, which prompts them to create music that is angular and lyrics that are clever and satirical. Greenhouse delivers his vocals in a speak-singing style and with all the ironic detachment he can muster. They keep their hooks melodic and simple, with relatively straightforward arrangements. There are some obvious early Fall influences in their music (Grotesque, for instance), from the wobbly riffs to the dripping sarcasm, plus a bit of Gang of Four jangle.
