Chubby and the Gang
Outline
Chubby and the Gang play it loud and fast like a proper punk band. They also play like their lives depend on it. Their music is not particularly aggressive, but their pacing usually stays somewhere between frantic and turbocharged. Every now and then, when they take a left turn and tap into a sound that is reminiscent of the early '60s British Invasion style, they still operate at top speed. That does not mean they just barrel through their songs in a hurry though, since more than half of them clock at above 2 minutes. The music is highly energetic for sure, with the pounding bass and the drums with a sharp, attacking tone. It also feels polished, from the instrumental POV, as opposed to rough or grimy, while vocalist Charlie Manning-Walker's vocals, on the other hand, can get hoarse.
