Briston Maroney

Briston Maroney is an indie rock artist with '90s alt-rock tendencies mixed with an indie folk feel that lurks right under the surface that navigates through some of the more conventional pop idioms. His songs are built on vocal and guitar-driven hooks, rousing choruses, and an emphatic style that pretty much double underscores his melodic contours. He was fairly intense and earnest in his early EPs, which relaxed somewhat by the time he released his first album, Sunflower, where he appeared more focused on the craft of songwriting and constructing memorable tunes.  His arrangements are built around a driving bass, steady drums, guitars that introduce the melodic motifs, with his slightly angsty vocals taking the driver's seat.
