George Ezra is an upbeat, jovial indie artist, singer, songwriter, and guitar player who produces up tempo pop songs with considerable Americana influences. His music is like a tent that is stretched between the expansive type of indie folk on one side, country on another, and indie pop at the other end. His songs are often built around appealing melodies that frequently lead to big choruses. His fingerpicking guitar style vaguely references some of the vintage American folk artists. He sings in a baritone that stands out a little in the context of modern pop but is completely at home when he veers into more blues-inspired melodies. He usually writes perky songs that carry a sense of fun, though his 2022 album, Gold Rush Kid has more than a few introspective ballads.
