BODUR

Chloe Bodur (currently known as BODUR) is a London based singer-songwriter whose music has gone through phases in the span of a few years. She started out with romantic ballads in the familiar R&B/pop mold, served with a light jazzy touch. Then around 2023, she began to shift towards an electronically grounded pop that incorporates middle eastern instruments, rhythms, and scales. She made these elements more explicit on her 2025 album Maqam, based on the melodic modes in Arabic music where each song capitalizes on a different maqam and its perceived mood. Her backdrop may have shifted over time, but her melodic flourishes still come with a strong R&B component, guided by her smoky voice.
