Been Stellar is a Brooklyn based indie rock band that plays '90s alt rock style with garage rock esthetics. Though they do not get too deep into grunge, they still make use of grunge motifs in their music. They keep it loud but balance the noise with their chock full of hooks. Their songs are tuneful without being too melodic. There are times where they play raw but even in those cases they maintain balance by adding some polish to their presentation. There are shades of shoegaze in their guitar tones as well. Stylistically they draw a little from classic New York bands like Sonic Youth and the early years of The Strokes.
