Another Sky

Another Sky is a band often labelled as indie rock, though with strong post-rock leanings and an indie pop approach. The singer Catrin Vincent's deep, semi-androgynous voice is often the first comment one hears about this band. It is a remarkable voice, to be sure, not only in terms of register but also in richness, expressiveness.  However, there are clearly more things going in their music than how her voice sounds. They are a band that was able to put a number of different ideas on to the table despite their relatively short recording history. They tend to assemble their songs with Radiohead-like patience, using similar sonic tools and effects, advancing the song with clean, deliberate, and uncluttered arrangements, They combine that ambitious agenda with enough polish on the songs to appeal to pop-oriented audiences.
