Air Waves

Air Waves started its life as a Brooklyn based band and eventually became singer-songwriter and bandleader Nico Schneit's moniker. She works mostly in a low-key indie rock style, in the mid tempo range. There is a relaxed tone in her songs and an overt folk tinge that sits on top of a soft and comfortable beat and gentle instrumentation. Her arrangements follow relatively straightforward lines with little to get in the way of the remarkably melodic core of her music and her unshowy but soulful vocal delivery.  She has a knack for coming up with instantly accessible tunes with a natural flow. Her work became progressively more political over the years especially starting with 2018's Warrior.
