The Greek Theatre is one of the most well-known and well-loved mid-to-large venues in Los Angeles. It is an open air theater in the Griffith Park with a gorgeous view and great acoustics. It is relatively small compared to stadiums or other outdoor spaces like Hollywood Bowl, but it packs a good crowd. The theater is on an incline that rises the seats as they extend back. The seats in the back and on the far sides obviously do not get as direct a viewing experience as the areas at the center and closer to the stage, which is why they are less pricey, but they are still good. There are also two huge monitors on either side of the stage, which helps. It has been named after its architecture style and true to the spirit of where it drew its inspiration, there is a row of shops and restaurants outside the amphitheater. The Greek has been operating since the '30s as a major hub mostly for musical events, but it also hosts other kinds of events as well.
Parking is expensive around the Greek. Most people park down the hill around Crystal Springs and Los Feliz, then take the shuttle service to the theater.
