Julie Doiron
Outline
Julie Doiron is a highly prolific Montreal based singer-songwriter and guitar player whose music has covered some range over the years, having started as a member of the alt-rock band Eric's Trip in the '90s. She then spent the next 10 years playing low tempo folk songs until she began to perk up a little in the mid '00s and started shifting towards a country-tinged indie rock style with more high tempo songs. Along the way, she revisited her grungy past with her sideband Julie & the Wrong Guys for a while. And then there are the series of albums she put together for her Spanish songs. What stands out in this diverse catalog is her remarkable songwriting chops, the clarity of her voice, and the charm her music exudes.
